Lifestyle, Learnings & Real Estate with Isabella

Dear Friends,
Hope your year is off to a wonderful start.
It’s been a snowy, rainy few weeks in New York City, and I hope you’re taking the time to slow down, and be cozy. Remember, this is the natural order of things - the rhythm of nature. Taking this time to do less will give us the energy and recharge time to blossom in spring, and harvest in summer and fall.
We are back to our original format this month, hope you enjoy this month’s curated collection of finds and inspiration.
Thank you for the honor of your time and energy reading.
With love and light,

Well [Inspired]
Pinterest Finds!
This reminder came up in my daily readings:
Fill your life and your world with the colors, textures, scents, and objects that are beautiful to you, that have meaning to you. Remember that we are connected to our environment. The objects and the colors in our world have energy and meaning. They have an impact on us.
Choose objects and colors that make your heart smile.
I felt so seen and validated with this passage! Right now, I am loving the combination of blue and red (especially light blue and burgundy, mon dieu!) - various shades of each. Blue is having a moment in my life - it’s a calming, grounding, serene color, the feeling of a breath of fresh air. Inhale, exhale.
Here are some visual snacks to show you just how beautiful these colors look good together!
What are some of your favorite color combinations?
Well [Designed]
I first came across the flowerpot lamp in a Scandinavian home goods store in Brooklyn. Once I discovered this lamp, I saw it everywhere - in stores around the world, in glossy magazine pages, on my feed.
My friends, this lamp is a classic. Consider this the Eames chair of lighting - first designed in 1968, this has become an enduring darling of the design world. The lamp “originates from the desire to craft pieces that trigger feelings rather than serve as mere functional objects.”
You can read more about the history of this small but mighty design piece HERE.
As of this past December, I am now the proud owner of the cordless version of this lamp. And how fun are all the color choices? I ended up picking the Dark Plum as it felt sophisticated and different. And is my way to indulge in the “unexpected red theory” (throwback to an earlier newsletter edition).
Well [Explored]
One of my go-to, favorite restaurants that is always at the top of my list when suggesting a spot to meet up at? Kazu Nori.
If you like sushi and have not been here yet, I’d highly recommend putting it on your short list to check out.
The full name of this restaurant is Kazu Nori: The Original Hand Roll Company. This is a sister restaurant to SUGARFISH, in the form of a casual, chic bar setting featuring a menu of masterfully delicious hand rolls. This spot is a great reflection of Japanese cuisine and design: simple, elegant, top quality. The best seaweed, the best rice, the best fish. Period, end of story.
The quick and efficient service and no-tipping policy make eating here a joyful experience.
Disclaimer: There are no reservations, and you can expect to wait in a line. The line moves quickly though. There are several locations throughout Manhattan.
Well [Read]
Reading has been a big priority for me this year. In these first (almost) two months of 2025, I’ve already added eight (!) books to my “Books I’ve Read” list (four non-fiction, four fiction for those wondering).
The book I want to share with you now is The Five Second Rule: Transform Your Life, Work, and Confidence with Everyday Courage. And no, it isn’t about the rule for food that has fallen on the floor.
Without exaggeration, this book has significantly improved my life already. What’s so great about it: it is simple, it is effective, and it only takes 5 seconds to implement in your life.
In a nutshell, the book focuses on acts of everyday courage and the 5 seconds it takes for your mind to talk you out of taking action (hello caveman brain that’s wired for survival).
Curious to learn more? Go get this book on Libby, the library, or your local bookstore.

Well [Cherished]
My word for this year is: creativity.
With that goal in mind, and a pursuit of working on the craft of photography (exciting things in the works!), I have signed up for a “52 Clicks” program, a weekly photography challenge. These prompts gets my out of my comfort zone, and click-clicking my way through NYC.
Here is my latest series, taken this past weekend at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The month’s theme is black & white.
Hope you enjoy! 📷
